Colorado Coconuts, Inc.  is an independent film company specializing in Shooting Competitive Sailing events, limited weddings, non broadcast productions, and other event videography.
We hope to have some short samples of previous films and of current projects, up and running on the website soon. 
We are currently working on the eighth film in the “Pretty All Right Summer” sailing series. This year’s film will put you right in the action; right on the starting line; right on a sailboat rounding the mark and unfortunately sometimes right in the middle of a collision or a broach.  Colorado Coconuts mostly sails on a Capri 22 named Pretty All Right, Tall Rig Fin Keel, sail # 923. But this year we also sailed on several other Capri 22’s as well. For the current project we filmed around 100 races on seven lakes and includes some interviews and shore side activities. And most of the current project was shot in HD, wide screen!
 We typically sail with two cameras and three microphones on a boat; set up time on the camera equipment alone is approximately 45 to 60 minutes for each race plus obviously time to rig the boat. Having all this equipment onboard adds a lot of weight and obstacles that others don’t have so we tend to have  some pretty  interesting conversations on Pretty All Right, for example in Pueblo; we had to choose whether to shoot the 60 mph winds or keep Pretty All Right … well… Up right and survive for another day. But, sometimes getting the shot will over ride our common sense.  
These sailing films are great to show your friends and family who don’t know what Colorado Regatta Sailing is all about.  These films are also great mementos during those winter months or for that inevitable time, when for some reason, you have to give up the helm. What a great way to remember some of the wonderful times you have had sailing.
